The 13-acre Town Lake Marina is located on the north side of Tempe Town Lake and south of the 202 Freeway at about College Avenue. The marina has a 5-lane boat launch ramp and 83 boat trailer spaces. Secured dry boat storage is provided in 52 of the 83 boat trailer spaces. There is another 144 vehicle parking spaces for the entire site.
The site contains a half-acre lagoon and marina to provide a safe water harbor for lake operations in case of flood conditions. The 23-boat slips store chase boats for the City's rowing program, as well as fire and police boats, and the Rio Lago Cruise concession boats.
An artistic water feature is sited in the center of the amphitheater, north of the lagoon. The art feature, Marina Water Muse, is an interactive circulation system that improves the water quality for the marina lagoon. It is designed to echo the traditions of water distribution found throughout the Salt River Valley and to encourage a contemplative interaction with flowing water.
Phase II will complete the 89 vehicle parking spaces and 6 handicap spaces on site and provide construction of a proposed 8,000 to 10,000 square foot Tempe Boat House for rowing programs, and Town Lake recreation and operations activities.
